Our specialist area combines the research specialisms of materials technology and plastics process technology. We attach great importance to a holistic approach. We investigate both fundamental and application-oriented issues.
Our research objectives include clarifying the relationships between microstructures and properties of polymer materials, composite materials and material composites. We pay particular attention to the effects of manufacturing processes.
We see the challenges facing the plastics industry as an opportunity for innovation and want to use our research to drive forward the functionalisation and biologisation of plastics.
