BIC is the only industry-led European bioeconomy association driving investment, funding, innovation, networking and policy support. We are a non-profit organisation connecting industry, academia and regions to transform bio-based feedstocks into novel sustainable products and applications, creating circular bioeconomy ecosystems. BIC represents 400+ Industry Members (large companies, SMEs, SME clusters, microenterprises) and 350+ Associate Members (research organisations, academia, trade associations) from across the bio-based value chain. Members represent diverse sectors, such as agriculture and agri-food, aquaculture and marine, chemicals and materials (including bioplastics), forestry, pulp and paper and technology providers and waste management and treatment. BIC also represents the private sector in a public-private partnership with the European Commission to scale-up innovation and strengthen the bio-based industries sector in Europe – the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU).
