Call for innovation ends soon for the leading event in the Renewable Carbon Economy: The "Renewable Materials Conference 2026"

The Renewable Materials Conference (RMC) will once again be the outstanding international meeting place for innovators, companies and brands, investors and policymakers to come together to develop and shape the future renewable carbon economy. As in previous years, the conference organiser nova-Institute expects 400-500 participants from around the world. 

The RMC is the leading global event on the renewable carbon economy, showcasing the latest progress in and prospects of bioeconomy, CCU and Recycling for the defossilisation of chemicals and materials. Accordingly, this year’s focus topic is “Defossilisation through innovation”. 80 presentations, more than 20 panel discussions, 16 workshops and an exhibition will offer comprehensive networking opportunities.

Call for Innovation for the “Renewable Material of the Year 2026”!

There will also be the opportunity to submit your innovation for the “Renewable Material of the Year 2026” innovation award, sponsored by Covestro (DE). Producers and inventors of innovative technologies and applications based on biomass, CO₂ or advanced recycling are invited to submit their exceptional innovations by 3 May 2026.
A jury consisting of representatives of the nova-Institute, the advisory board and the conference sponsors will nominate the outstanding “Top 6” applicants in the run-up to the conference. In September, the three winners will be selected by all participants after the award session at the conference.

Conference Topics in Detail – Defossilisation through Innovation

Day 1 “Defossilisation of the Chemical Industry”: Renewable Carbon Strategies; New Pathways: Fine and Speciality Chemicals; Lignin and CO₂ utilisation.
The day will conclude with a highlight Panel Discussion on “Competitiveness and Strategic Autonomy“, a crucial aspect for realising defossilsation.
